MaryLou Miller is a legal nurse consultant with Protocols® – a multidisciplinary consulting firm that specializes in medical settlement planning for parties involved in complex workers’ compensation and personal injury liability cases. The goal of Protocols® is to achieve optimal outcomes for all parties.
The Protocols® team of experts – medical, benefits and legal – works together with clients to create a comprehensive plan for the projected medical care of an injured person. We also advise on the best and most cost-effective way to finance this care. Among Protocols® specialty services are medical projections, life care plans and Medicare set-aside analysis, allocation and administration.
MaryLou is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the American Holistic Health Association and the American Holistic Nurses Association. She is a member of the quality assurance, employee health and competency committees for the Denver board of a major health maintenance organization.
At Protocols, MaryLou focuses on the wide range of medical needs analyses that are used to determine settlements and Medicare set-aside allocations. In previous positions, she provided case management for hospice patients and for adults with chronic mental illness; she also served as a staff nurse and supervisor.
MaryLou holds a PhD in Heatheology from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. She has also earned an M.A. in Sports Medicine from Chapman University (Orange, California) and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Women’s Sports Foundation.
MaryLou received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Colorado, Denver, and is licensed as a registered nurse in Colorado. In addition, she has taught nursing at Regis University (Denver, Colorado) and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
